Oliver Maiwald takes over as CEO of Sencio
Sencio is very pleased to announce that Oliver Maiwald has joined our management team as Chief Executive Officer. His appointment will allow John Pleumeekers to take up a new role as Chief Operating Officer, responsible for Sencio’s European and Far East operations.
Oliver comes to Sencio with a strong track record in the semiconductor industry. After studying telecommunications at the University of Hannover, he was involved in the architecture and development of DECT hardware and software applications at Höft & Wessel. He then further honed his technical and customer expertise as a product application engineer at National Semiconductor, supporting customers on everything from RF and software up to full applications.
Next came a move into product marketing at Dialog Semiconductor. In this role he led the hardware and software integration of DECT into internet access devices like DSL or cable modems. He also invented DECT ULE, and remains active in the DECT Forum (as CTO) and ETSI standardization activities for DECT.
Oliver's appointment supports and strengthens Sencio’s marketing and sales activities. "I am very excited to be joining the innovative team at Sencio, and look forward to leading them forward towards new opportunities," he said.
As CEO, Oliver wants to lead Sencio to increased opportunities by focusing on engineering services for functional packages for sensors used in harsh environments. Oliver will focus on Marketing, Sales and Development, as John will focus on production and the transition of high-volume production from Nijmegen to the Philippines.
